The scope of the Medical Equipment Management Plan encompasses the guidelines and protocols that healthcare facilities must adhere to in order to ensure the safe and proper use of medical equipment during patient care. This plan outlines the procedures and practices that need to be implemented to maintain the highest standards of safety and accuracy in healthcare settings.
An inventory of all the equipment will be updated each time a new piece of medical equipment is received, and all medical equipment should be properly registered and recorded. Prior to usage, every piece of new equipment needs to be inventoried and examined. Electrical safety tests should not be passed, and equipment that doesn’t pass shouldn’t be put to use until the flaws are fixed. All of the equipment included in the equipment management program should be listed in an up-to-date inventory. In the clinic, a current inventory should be kept that solely includes “In Use” medical equipment.
Depending on the nature of your enquiry, the customer care centre staff will then distribute your request for consultation to the appropriate Laboratory Medicine discipline.
A member of the Medical/Scientific Staff will get back to the requesting healthcare provider within one business day.
