Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostic imaging procedures can be performed in a variety of settings, such as a hospital or a polyclinic. In some cases, portable radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment may be used to image patients. Patient convenience and accessibility should be considered in the planning and design of the Radiology Department. Diagnostic imaging services perform examinations and generate images from noninvasive or minimally invasive procedures performed on patients in specially equipped examination rooms. Imaging modalities associated with diagnostic imaging services include medical applications of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
